Hi Jeffrey, thanks for sharing this tip, very handy.. this is what i tried...Took a group shot from my freind's wedding and replaced the stage with photo of Taj Mahal i'd taken last year. Haven't made any adjustments with the colors though.

Amazingly simple. I've done this doing design work, but it never crossed my mind to create illusions.

I did the stool/mediation thing in addition to floating billard balls. They really came out nice. See them at http://www.redisaflavor.com/riaf/post/2009/04/16/Photography-Illusions-Levitation-and-Floating.aspx

Keep the inspirations coming!

Wow Spencer. Not only did you manage a nice result but you even kicked it up a notch by cloning together multiple originals and doing it all without a modeling light.

I used this technique to make this photo from three others. Each had elements that I wanted and elements that I didn't want. My camera and flash were on tripods, so the overlay was relatively easy.

I actually use this technique to fix backgrounds as you suggest in the second half of the tutorial. However, I never thought of the first idea... how fun! The weather is gloomy here in Denver today and now I know what I'm going to do with my boys today... Make them fly!

I think it would look more realistic if you added a cast shadow to it. Now she looks as if she was just pasted on the scene.
