WORK: Weekend Photography Challenge
This weekend your challenge is to take and share a photo on the theme of ‘Work’.
Feel free to interpret the theme in any way. You might want to show your own work place (or someone else’s), photograph someone working, share your idea of what work is (or isn’t)… whatever you like.
Once you’ve taken your “WORK” image, upload it to your favourite photo sharing site and either share a link to it below or embed it in the comments using the our new tool to do so.
If you tag your photo on Flickr, Twitter or other sites with Tagging tag it as #DPSWORK to help others find it. Linking back to this page might also help others know what you’re doing so that they can share in the fun.

Anyone else find the theme WORK ironic for a weekend challenge.
Good stuff – looking forward to seeing everyone’s submissions.

I agree with Greg–WORK on a weekend?
Should be interesting though . . .

Ironic? I work in a call center all the weekends.. Saludos from Buenos Aires to all =)
April 17th, 2010 at 6:43 am
It’s ironic for me because my girlfriend and I both have to work this weekend (we’re normally 9-5ers). Anyway, many of the the types of work that would make for a good photograph are available to capture on weekends. And there are a lot of ways you can interpret the theme….

I have to work this entire weekend as well… on an ambulance. Unfortunately there is a camera policy at work banning photos, but perhaps I could try and get creative around the station.
This weekend I will also be making my selections for the second week of my photo contest!

“Anyone else find the theme WORK ironic for a weekend challenge.”
I DO! In fact, I’ve gotten a lot of photography tips while I’m at work. I play with various party / wedding bands and it’s always nice to pick the brains of various photographers… as long as I mention ahead of time that I’m not trying to steal their job

I hope it isn’t breaking the rules to share a picture I took last week. I just got home from a Panama Canal cruise and I downloaded my pictures and figured this would be perfect.
For whatever reason when the ship was going through the locks I was really struck by the men who work hard to make the ships progress seamless. I took tons of pictures of them – I really liked the interesting perspective from the deck of the ship.

In mexico this weekend where I saw dad working day after day rebuilding part of the street in front of where we stayed. His young son played with rocks all day. Then we gave him a small “rubber rocket” and two pink lime intertubes. we watched him play but this time not with rocks as his dad did.

Tried sending this a couple of times, submit seems not to be working that well. This photo was taken yesterday in Mexico while having watched a man building a road all week, each day his son joined him and played with the rocks his father used to build the road. I gave him a toy and he was fascinated while his father worked.

This is a photo of “sea beggars” in the Philippines, which can also be considered fishermen who live off coins being thrown at them from ships leaving and arriving the pier. If you travel to the Philippines, you will not be able to miss them as they can be found in almost every pier/port around the country.
