The ND course at PTA was a full time 3year course covering EVERYTHING, but I have met people who dropped out after the 1st year to move to the NCP because they wanted to simply shoot and be critiqued. Horses for courses I suppose. The OP here mentions the marketing and business aspects of the course - at PTA we had two years of business management as the sad fact is that if you are no good as a businessman, no matter how good your photography - you will fail. Training is good and worthy, but nothing beats shadowing a pro tog in the real world. Of course you're more likely to get an assistant job if you know you way around a camera and can work to a specific brief (most important). @Michelle and Gemma.

I do not have a lot of spare time so I find it great to do it when I can and not at fixed times.
