Inspired by uniqueness of this kind of art, I have just beginning to experiment. My recent shots are displayed in my website www.wingsofpassion.org. More are coming. In addition I would like to share that I also practise another form of abstract photography i.e. water drop or water splash photography. I have even developed a complete kit to facilitate this art form. Samples shots are also displayed in my websiite. It would be my pleasure to invite you to have a look at my website. Thanks

I had to try this after reading this article! Reading it i thought "can't be that hard" but some 200+ images later i was feeling pretty humbled. I definitely have a new found respect for anyone choosing this as a primary art form.
Here's my first attempt at this technique: http://www.flickr.com/photos/curtfleenor/5232991863/

Thanks for the article!

Smoke Art Photography requires a very strong technique, while lighting is the key of success. Smoke is a challenge for any talented photographer, and these tips are definitely useful!

I am an Architecture student at Southern Polytechnic University in Marietta Georgia and I was recently given an assignment to study a non-structural medium or material in reaction to any environmental forces or artificial stimuli. I chose smoke as my medium and was wondering if you could offer me any insight or knowlege that you have found working with this smoke art (more specifically pertaining to its inner workings and how it acts by itself and reacts to movement of the hand, wind, temperature etc) ....Thankyou in advance

This is a great introduction to Smoke Photography. I really liked the whole of the article with each step explained in detail.
Thank you for such a step vivid and step-by-step lesson.
I hope that I too can create some good smoke photographs now.
