		<description>Ironically, this is what *I* got into photography for, to have photographs to work from. Both paintings of still life (old car and wine scene) on my website are from photographs I took, and then, rather than stopping there, drew them. I&#039;ve also asked some people on here if I may draw some of their photographs that inspired me (particularly in the &quot;trucks&quot; challenge.

My portraiture is from photos, also, not still life.  by hand (how else is it done? I don&#039;t get the amazement of painting by hand?) Re: &quot;first time I’ve ever seen someone providing this service by hand!&quot;</description>

My ex-wife paints over photographs and creates a nice effect.

Here is a an image of the headrace at the Consolidated Copper Mine in Butte, Montana:

This done entirely in PSE using the graphic pen filter.

I, also, create almost painting looking images by converting to monochrome and tweaking the contrast levels in PSE–
