Michael, I'm getting ready to buy PhotoTools 2 and this would be a deal breaker for me, too. I just checked OnOne's Knowledge Base, though, and it looks like their licenses are for two computers. Link is at http://www.ononesoftware.com/support/kb/?View=entry&EntryID=32

Sounds like a useful tool but the one computer license is a deal breaker for me. I'm not going to pay for the same software twice to edit at my office or on my laptop. Adobe's 2 seat license is reasonable. Considering how many people work the same way I do, I imagine that there are quite a few lost sales from onOne being too protective of their program.

I have used my Phototools for a long time, and it is one package I am really happy with the purchase price for the amount of use they get.

Jeff, yes one more program to install & a hefty one at that if you download their suite, its 3-4gigs. And updates are big too. I've been passing up the latest updates, files are so big. But thats for the suite not just one app like Photo Tools.

Its an amazing program. Which also answers the question asked by Flores, yep you can do all the "stuff" in photoshop but you'll need the recipes in order to do so. With OnOne you can get amazing results with just a few clicks as you toggle thru the many options.I've not counted but there are 100's of choices for the tool effects. Results are also editable - effects are done on a separate layer.

From their entire suite I find myself mainly using the Photo tools.

One glitch I've had - I havent gotten it to -really- run on cs4. It appeared for a time & worked but then it kist poof'd. Could be a 'puter prob with vista I'm not sure. So if i want to use OnOne, I run it on CS3 & works fine. For tech issues, the forum seems to be more helpful than asking tech support.

@Flores: That's a call you'll have to make. I've been using PS since version 3.0, and I still have to look things up. It's an incredibly complex piece of software that most people never truly master. If you like working under the hood, there is no better software, but if your design vision is not as sharp as your technical skills, or you just want to save time, most things you would need PS for are somewhere in this package.

Truth be told, adding up all my Lynda purchases, I've spent more on that then PhotoTools :) But I still like having a solid foundation in PS. Not really an answer I guess.

I should have saved my results at a higher resolution. The small ones here don't do the software justice. Try clicking on the portrait shot above for example, and you'll see a slightly larger version.

This seems like a worth while program to use. However, a major draw back to me would be installing yet another program on to my systems. Integrating another program in to my work flow and having it take up the space on my system just doesnt seem to appealing to me. If it was possible that one program could eliminate another then I could see how it would play a beneficial role in my work flow. Having said that, it seems like a program that would be good to have, just not something I will run out to purchase.
