I need to shoot at least one day out of the week. I was born to take pictures, because when I don't I seriously get withdrawals. I start dreaming that I'm on a photo shoot, or I think about it ALL day until it drives me crazy and I have to pick up the camera. When I'm having a conversation with my husband I always think how I would take his picture in that particular light - he says I don't listen to him. I don't. I am seriously addicted and it has been this way for me for 20 years. People tell me I should start my own business, and I get lots of requests from friends, but I don't charge. I just love taking pictures!

In the past 18 months my two cameras have racked up about 16,000 photos. one fo them being a Nikon D90 (at current 6,800 from new, which was 4th month this year(2009)) and my compact Panasonic DMC-TZ 15 (at current (9,300 from new, which was around 5th month last year(2008)).

29.6 photos a day....

I have carried a Sony point and shoot on my belt for years. Probably take hundreds of pictures monthly. Many of these are some of my most enjoyable. My D300 is too heavy to carry on a work day around the farm. Trips into the city on errands or to see children and grandchildren are when I primarily use the D300. Of course the quality on the images of the heavier camera is worth the effort.

unfortunately I tend to lack the opportunity to take photographes each and every day ...

Also I find sometimes when you almost "force" yourself to take photographs on a regular basis you can become slightly disenchanted .. for example if your forte is art nude, you have a burning need to take photographs and as such take some landscapes .. the landscapes dont work out and you feel less inclined to work outside your photographic comfort zones

My goal is to shoot daily. I typically shoot at least every other day, sort of mini shoots with larger shoots on the weekend. I also post a daily image on Facebook and Twitter which helps me with feedback for photo contest submissions. I carry my camera (Pentax K20D) with a few lenses with me all of the time and I also keep a tripod in the car for those early morning still reflections and the evening hour sunsets. Feel free to check out my site and let me know what you think, I can always learn more and find a better way to do things. If there's anyone here in the SF Bay Area that wants to get out and shoot with us sometimes, just let me know send me an email or leave a message on my site.
