http://www.feisol.com/, Here's a better link to the Feisol. I bought a CT-3342 when they were first introduced from Taiwan via postal mail to the US and they included a couple of freebies. I've used it now for about four years. I put a Giotto MH1301 ball head on it with Kirk mounting plates. They've been having trouble keeping a US distributor, but the direct service from the factory was perfect.

I took one of these with me on a trip through the Northwest Passage on a Russian Icebreaker. I didn't use the monopod function. The tripod actually fit into my photo backpack which was handy when we went ashore on Zodiacs. The tripod was sturdy enough with my lighter lenses even in portrait position (Canon 17-40mm f4L and Tamron Macro 90mm f2.8) and could take a bit heavier lens in a landscape position (Canon 24-105mm f4L). I would never try to put my Canon 100-400mm on it! I was very pleased with the tripod's performance and it will be my tripod of choice whenever I need to take a lighter one on my travels. You can see some of the images for which I used the tripod on my website.

Thats looks pretty solid. What type is yours? Also, can you remove the center column to get a low angle shot?

I have to admit that I'm not a very experienced used of tripods, so I'm not sure a review would be very useful.

I did take some pictures of the tripod though: http://picasaweb.google.com/lokedhs/Tripod#

@Elias Martenson:
Can you post some kind of review for the Sirui? I'm really interested in buying one. The specs looks great but I can't find any review for sirui tripod.

It looks very much like the folding design of the Feisol tripod.

It's been a while since I've looked at tripods. This is definitely going on the wish list.

I was given a 20 minute product demo last Sunday at Focus on Imaging here in the UK and the tripod was extremely impressive. Next time I am doing a big international photo trip I will sure to factor one into my trips budget as it did look very impressive. Similar to the Gitzo but less than a half price and comes with a head, bag, monopod feature etc...

This tripod seems to do everything my big Manfrotto can do. Strangely there is only a tiny difference in weight between the carbonfibre and the alu version. I know I will be going for the cheaper one. Great tripod and I looking forward to seeing how it performs in the real world!
