Your post is wonderful. I was checking out some pictures on your site and they are really cool. You are right sepia toning gives a very artistic look. I love to convert my photographs to sepia. I have not tried doing so in photoshop, I generally use Contenta Converter for this purpose. I must say that your post is very informative and you have greatly simplified the technical issues.

After the opening comment about controlling the density of the various tonal ranges I’m surprised you didn’t mention converting to duotone. It gives great control, and there are even some nice presets that ship with Photoshop (albeit hidden a bit)

Great post Kenneth! It’s always a hoot to see the many roads that lead to Rome in Photoshop! I have fun with a few other pro with this. Always topic for discussion. There’s no right or wrong way as long as you get to where you want to go!
