84% of Our Readers Share The Images They Take Online [POLL RESULTS]
The results are in on our most recent poll – this one asking whether readers share the images that they take online. Lets first break the results into Yes vs No (with some fairly clear results).

Next we’ll look a little at the frequency of using online photo sharing – this one was a little more evenly split.

I’m yet to do some analysis of the comments left on the poll post to see what the breakdown of ways that people share their images online – if someone wants to do a summary/breakdown please feel free to do so and share it in comments below – however a quick scan of the 200+ comments seemed to indicate Flickr was the most popular option (no real surprises there) but that a lot more options were also included.

Yes, I believe the digital age has enabled us to share images easier and easier each day. I was expecting more than 90% of dps reader to be sharing images, turns out its close enough
I personally share alot on facebook, my blog, and model mayhem where appropriate.
Facebook is good because you can tag your friends (not everyone has flickr, but everyone has facebook).

I am a little surprised 16% don’t share images online.

I do share, at least weekly. Gives me enough time to weed out the bad ones. I put them on Facebook for family and friends to see and the one I really like and think are interesting I place on FlickR. I love going through the “Interestingness” photos on FlickR, as there are some amazing shot there. Gives me inspiration to shoot more and it has helped me improve my photography.

I share regularly. As part of my photographic journey from Rookie to Pro (www.rookiephoto.com) I have to get exposure as well as the stream of information, tips and advice from as many people as possible. The readers on DPS have so far been very positive and helpful. By Rookie Photo blog gets roughly 25% of its traffic from DPS readers and many of them peruse my full portfolio of images on my Flickr stream (www.flickr.com/photos/kylebailey). Without sharing it would be extremely difficult for me to get the help and advice necessary for me to go from Rookie to Pro in the 5 year time frame I’ve set for myself.
My Flickr images get on average 1,100 views per day and my blog’s readership is increasing daily. Here is a link to a posting summarizing the first six weeks of my photographic journey. Please comment if you can spare the time. http://www.rookiephoto.com/2010/04/17/aprils-showers/
Thanks and keep up the great work on DPS!
