<a href="http://tinyurl.com/72tgsou" rel="nofollow">Scott Kelby's Digital Photography Boxed Set, Volumes 1, 2, and 3</a>

I agree with Jacek. The Freeman book is tops. Even the German translation is good!

this year for christmas my mother in law got me "The practical illustrated encyclopedia of Digital Photography - Steve Luck

LOVE IT! ive never been the kind of person who learns best through reading text/how to/guide books but its broken down nicely and it segmented short and sweet yet super informative and illustrates all their explanations with photos. the only downside is the big size.

The Photographer’s Eye by Michael Freeman is the best photography book I ever read. I already read two books by Brian Peterson and Scott Kelby's tips but this one is different. There is not a single word about setting your camera, it's fully about creating photos.
